Yesterday, Avonworth’s Cross Country teams competed at the WPIAL Championship at California University of PA. In the Girls AA Race, Senior Anna Igimis finished 10th overall and qualified for the PIAA State Championship for the fourth consecutive year.  She is only the second female Avonworth runner in school history to qualify for states all four

The Girls Cross Country teams both put in great performances on Thursday Afternoon at California University to take 4th place in the WPIAL AA Championship Race. The Girls Team, competing in the AA Race, finished behind South Fayette, Greensburg Salem and Knoch. Senior Anna Igims who finished 9th and Sophomore Lindsay Hartle who finished 18th individually qualified for the PIAA Championship Meet.

The Boys Cross Country team knew it would take a team effort to earn one of 4 available automatic entries to the PIAA Team Championship and they delivered. The Boys Team, competing in the WPIAL AA Championship Race, earned a bid by beating the 5th place team from OLSH by 2 points. Junior Jackson Habala let the way
