Jacob Gustic threw a gem on Wednesday for Avonworth Lopes Varsity, allowing zero runs and beating Northgate by a score of 26-0
Avonworth Lopes Varsity was boosted by Turner Grau who went 5-for-6 at the plate. Grau singled in the first, homered in the second, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and homered in the fifth.
Avonworth Lopes Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Grau singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Avonworth Lopes Varsity put up 16 runs in the fifth inning. Avonworth Lopes Varsity offense in the inning was led by Denny Manko, Jake Sommers, Jack Reed, Jax Miller, Grau, and Timmy Stewart, all driving in runs in the frame.
A single by Vito Pascale in the fifth inning was a positive for Northgate.
Gustic pitched Avonworth Lopes Varsity to victory. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out nine.
Clayton Cooper took the loss for Northgate. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits and walking one.
Avonworth Lopes Varsity launched two home run on the day. Grau had a long ball in the second and fifth innings.

Pascale led Northgate with one hit in two at bats.
