On Wednesday night, the swim teams defeated section foe Springdale to remain undefeated on the season.
Junior Karen Siddoway led the girls team to a 86-68 victory posting victories in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Backstroke where she broke the team record that she set last season. Sophomore Kaylee Madey posted career best times in her 500 Freestyle victory and second place finish in the 50 Freestyle. Also earning victories for the girls were Senior Ava Groll in the 50 Freestyle, Junior Brianna Nowka in the 100 Freestyle and Freshman Carly Spahr in the 200 Freestyle. In the relay events Siddoway, Madey, Nowka and Spahr won the 400 Freestyle Relay; Groll, Madey, Nowka and Spahr won the 200 Freestyle Relay and Freshman Danica Raich teamed with Siddoway, Groll and Nowka to win the 200 Medley Relay.
On the boy’ side, Seniors Nick Madey and Zech Boyce teamed with Junior Aidan Sommers and Freshman Cooper Groll started the meet with a win in the 200 Freestyle relay. The boys went on win all of the remaining events on their way to convincing 75-14 victory. Junior Mason Herzig earned an individual victory in the 500 Freestyle as did Sophomore Luke Tomczak in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. Madey (100 Breastroke), Boyce (50 and 100 Freestyle), Sommers (200 Individual Medley), Groll (100 Butterfly) also earned individual victories. Boyce, Madey, Tomczak and Groll teamed to win the 400 Freestyle Relay with Madey, Sommers, Groll and Sophomore Luke Wagner winning the 200 Freestyle Relay.
The teams will host section rival Knock High School on Thursday, January 18th at 6:00 PM at Northgate High School.
