KD Signing

St. Francis Brooklyn head women’s bowling coach Dawn Gugliaro has announced that Kimberly (Kimmi) D’Ottavio has signed a National Letter of Intent, and will join the Terrier program beginning in the fall of 2017.

D’Ottavio, who hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, comes to the Terriers after an exceptional scholastic career at Avonworth High School.  This season, D’Ottavio earned MVP honors in the West Section, and was a first-team All-Section selection.  She helped the team to first place finishes in WPIAL Section Seven all four years of her career, and was Section Seven MVP as a sophomore.  D’Ottavio also helped Avonworth reach the Pennsylvania State High School championship tournament during her career, earning a third place finish during her sophomore season.

“Kimmi was brought to my attention two seasons ago by a close friend and fan of our Terrier program. I am so grateful for that contact and the chance to meet the D’Ottavio family and make the connection,” said Gugilaro. “Leaving home and going far away to school is not an easy decision, when Kimmi came here for her official visit, she connected so well with our girls it was like she was still at home, just with a different view. We are extremely excited to have Kimmi as part of our family. Kimmi will provide us with the power, hard work, and skills that we look for in incoming freshmen. Kimmi will help strengthen the layers of our program for years to come. Kimmi has been in pressure situations and has won many prestigious titles and awards.  She knows how to perform and stay focused on the task at hand no matter the situation.  She is driven, confident and a competitor. That is what we are looking for in our freshmen.  Kimmi is a power player and I love coaching power athletes.  I’m looking forward to working with her.
Kimmi’s mother, father and sister will be joining our amazing group of parents and extended family, that we count on every weekend to keep us going.  We look forward to having all of the D’Ottavio’s with us for the next four years.”

Along with five returning letterwinners from this past season’s team, D’Ottavio joins Tottenville High School (Staten Island, NY) product Lexis Ortiz on the Terriers.
